Talk about the characteristics of the Seamonster Family as described in
the story:
- The Seamonster
Family consists of Sami, Lizi, Mom, Dad and Grandpa.
- Seamonsters
live in caves under the water.
- Seamonsters
like to do the same things as people: read, count, jump, draw, play
dress-up, play games, cook food and eat.
- Seamonsters are
different colors: Sami is green and yellow, Lizi is pink and yellow,
Dad is orange, Mom is green and Grandpa is blue.
- Girl
seamonsters have hair and boy seamonsters have humps on their backs.

The story tells us that Grandpa is very wise. What does it mean to
be wise? (Knowledge and experience make a person wise.) Why is
Grandpa Seamonster wise? (He knows many things; he is old.) Talk
about listening to our elders (such as parents and grandparents) who are
wise because they know more than we do.

Sami and Lizi’s favorite treat is cattail cakes. Cattails are plants
that grow on the edges of lakes and other bodies of water. Seamonsters
gather the cattails on the surface of the lake and make delicious cakes
from them. Share your favorite treat together.
